In A Cold Climate A Flannel Sheet
Set Is Just What You Need
I was never a really big fan of the flannel sheet set until my
sister bought me a set for my birthday a few years ago. It just
never really occurred to me to change my bed sheets depending on the
seasons. I just thought perhaps my little sister liked having
something a little warmer for the winter months. Nevertheless, I
decided to go ahead and get some use out my new set. After that
first night of sleeping on my new flannel sheet set, I was
really impressed. Thus began my winter relationship with flannel
sheets.
It gets really cold where I live. The nights can be especially
brutal. I have a very warm down comforter on my bed, but there are
still times when I wake up in the middle of the night freezing cold.
When I put that flannel sheet set on my bed, I slept soundly through
the night and woke up the next morning toasty warm. I keep the room
temperature in my bedroom pretty cold, but that doesn't mean I want
to be cold under my bed covers. A flannel sheet set was just what I
needed to keep me warm all night long.
You can get a good flannel sheet set from many of the online bedding
stores. You definitely don't want to use them in the summer months
though, because you will wake up sweaty and overheated. You just
can't under estimate the warming power of a good flannel sheet set.
Though the material seems to be only a little thicker than regular
sheets, looks can be certainly be deceiving. You may even find
yourself kicking that comforter off and sleeping comfortably with
just your sheets.
Always be sure to use fabric softener when washing a flannel sheet
set. When flannel sheets are washed without a fabric softener they
tend to become very itchy and stiff on your bed. Nothing interrupts
a great nights sleep like a set of washed out flannel sheets. Be
sure to use a delicate detergent as well. Though a flannel sheet set
isn't recommended for summer use, they're just fine for early spring
and late fall. Air drying them on your clothesline can give you an
even softer sheet.
