Choose The Best Nursery Bedding
For Your New Arrival
Attention moms, dads, grandparents, friends, day care providers, and
expectant couples! Which nursery bedding to buy is just one of the many
decisions you will be making upon the arrival of your precious little
one.
The question is... where do you even begin? Truthfully, most people do
one of two things. Either, they have an idea in their head for the
nursery theme and use that to make their choices, OR, they find the
nursery bedding that is so inviting and inspiring they then become
passionately driven to create a room around it.
If you are not at the phase of choosing THE ONE, but are just browsing
through the available choices online, I KNOW you will not be
disappointed! In fact, whether you are shopping for your new arrival,
your grandchild, or a friend's baby shower gift, you may actually be
overwhelmed by the themes, designs, fabrics, and colors available to
choose from.
Expecting parents (especially moms) have been known to literally lose
hours of time surfing the web for some of the most unique and beautiful
baby bedding. So, we want to help you with your search to save you some
precious time.
First, we will "let you in" on some of the most popular and sought after
nursery bedding, as this might inspire some ideas in you. These include
any of the following:
denim baby bedding
blue and white gingham crib bedding
Noah's Ark infant bedding
John Deere nursery bedding
sugar and spice baby bedding
green and blue toile
silk baby bedding
safari nursery bedding
luxurious baby bedding
nursery bedding with trains
jungle bedding
Hawaiian crib bedding
Raggedy Ann and Andy nursery bedding
and, frog crib bedding
Next, we suggest you consider the many advantages of online shopping. You know what they are, I'm sure... convenience, rising gas prices, easy
return policies, endless selection, lower prices due to direct from the
factory
shipping, excellent customer service, etc.
Third, let's talk about the decisions you are going to have to make
beyond bedding popularity, a particular merchant reputation,
convenience, a merchant's reputation, color, and theme. The nursery
bedding you choose will need to be comfortable, durable, and safe for
your little one!
To ensure comfort and durability, you will want to pay attention to both
fabric and thread count. The most comfortable fabrics will be silk,
cotton, flannel, or linen. As for thread count, the higher the better
quality and durability. The lowest you want would be 180, and the
highest, 500 perhaps. It truly will depend on how much you can afford.
As for safety, we recommend you consider a few things. First, make sure
the fitted sheet has a nice snug fit over the mattress. You want it to
be tight enough (but not too tight) so it does not come off the corners
while your
baby sleeps. Second, make sure your sheets are flame resistant/flame
retardant, just in case!
Third, use comforters, blankets and quilts for decoration or play
blankets to lay on top of rather than covering your baby with them. It
is just too easy for them to bunch up and may actually cause your baby
to suffocate. If you MUST use a blanket, make sure it is tucked in
tightly at the bottom of the crib and place your infant under the
bedding 1/2 - 2/3 of the way. Your safest alternative in colder weather
is sleeper pajamas or a "halo sack" (a wearable infant sleeping bag with
arm holes and no strings). And, above all, no pillows!
Hopefully this will get you started.
